Southern Bancorp president announces promotions | Business
ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — Scott Fife, President and CEO of Southern Bancorp Bank, today announced six officer promotions.
John French is promoted to Senior Vice President for Non-Profit Lending & Servicing, Facilities, and Bank Security. French joined Southern in 2006 as President of Southern Bancorp CDC and in 2007 took on additional duties as Senior Lender for Southern Bancorp Financial Partners. French has more than 23 years’ experience in banking, serving as President of Regions Bank in Arkadelphia; President of First State Bank in Gurdon; Senior Vice President of Citizens First Bank in Arkadelphia; and as a Financial Analyst and Senior Examiner for the Arkansas Bank Department. French earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and business from Hendrix College in Conway and is a graduate of the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
Colleen Butler is promoted to Vice President. Butler, who joined Southern in 1996, was promoted to Deposit Operations Manager in 2010 and has worked in a variety of departments including purchasing, training, marketing, and customer service management. Before joining Southern, Butler spent 13 years with Dillard’s Department Stores and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
Cindy McDill is promoted to Vice President. McDill will manage Southern Bancorp’s Arkadelphia market inresidential and consumer real estate lending. McDill has 10 years’ experience in banking, including seven years at Southern, serving most recently as a mortgage loan officer in Arkadelphia. She previously worked as a Customer Service Representative and Bank Trainer for the Worthen National Bank in Hot Springs. McDill earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia.
Anthony Patterson is promoted to Vice President.He previously served as a Commercial Lender for Southern in Trumann. Patterson has more than seven years of banking experience, including serving as a Branch Manager/Loan Officer for Unico Bank in Trumann. He earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro and also is a graduate of the Barret School of Banking in Memphis, Tenn. Patterson joined Southern in 2007.
Gina Pillow is promoted to Vice President. Pillow, who joined Southern in 1994, manages the trust department and all deposit operations for the bank’s Central region. Pillow has 26 years of banking experience, and prior to joining Southern she worked at Merchants and Farmers Bank, Capital Savings and Loan, and Helena National Bank. She attended ArkansasStateUniversity, the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, and Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas.
Gina Stringfellow is promoted to Vice President. Stringfellow, an employee of Southern Bancorp Bank for 19 years, began her banking career with the Bank of Ruleville in deposit operations as a proof operator. She cross- trained in all areas of the bank, but served in loan operations for the past seven years. Stringfellow is a graduate of Delta State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.
